ROSEVILLE, CA a€" Pete Salazar, 69, died February 22, 2008 at his home in Roseville, CA. after a lingering illness.

He was born on January 18, 1939 to Joe David and Adelina Guiterrez Salazar in Monte Vista, CO.

At an early age, his family moved to the Ogden area where he was raised and educated. He attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ben Lomond High School where he excelled in sports.

Pete later graduated from Weber State College where he received his Teaching Certificate. He was a heavy equipment operator for 27 years. He was an instructor for IEOU Job Corp Program. He also was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #3.

Pete married Patsy Isakson and they had two daughters, Tamara Stevenson and Sherrie Salazar. They later divorced.

On May 7, 1971, Pete married Donna Randall and they had two daughters, Michelle Penrod and Amanda Salazar.

Pete enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, fishing, photography, hunting and really loved spending time with his family.

Pete is survived by his wife and daughters, three grandchildren, Elizabeth, David, Mekelle; two great-grandchildren, Jace and Josh. One brother, Bernie (Frances) Salazar; two sisters, Floripa (Ray) Diarte and Angelina Salazar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 29, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church, 514 a€" 24th Street.

Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Interment at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park Cemetery, 4500 Washington Blvd.
