"Together Again"
Pete Nick Vlahos
SOUTH OGDEN – On Saturday, January 16, 2010, our beloved father left us to join his loving wife, Maria Edie Vlahos, and sister Mary Vlahos-Musliner for a joyful reunion in Heaven.
He was born to Nick and Dauos Vlahos on November 2, 1930 in Ogden, Utah.
Pete joined the Navy on January 12, 1954. On May 24, 1958, Pete married Maria Edie Empey in Elko, Nevada. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2006.
He was raised and educated in Ogden where he lived his whole life. He graduated from Ogden High, and from the University of Utah with a Bachelors Degree in Science, and Doctorate of Law in 1957. He served as Judge for Weber County 1962 and went on to Private practice until his retirement in September of 2007.
Pete was a member of The Greek Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration where his wife had been the first woman president. He was a member of the Utah Bar Association, Eagles, Elks, Free and Accepted Mason, Shriners, and American Legion.
Pete devoted his life to practicing law and did so for 50 years. He was a community leader and was regarded at the top of his profession. He was the recipient of numerous accolades. He was listed in the Who’s Who of American Law,, Northern Utah Attorney of the Year many times, and Parent of the Year. Pete represented many high profile clients that landed him on Good Morning America. Even though he was regarded as the BEST and was constantly being recognized, he remained true and humble. His name was his reputation which will live on with his sense of humor and brief case of photocopied jokes.
Your family and friends as well as the many foster families and children whose lives you touched so dearly with your unconditional love, will deeply miss you.
Pete is survived by his children, Nick R. Vlahos (Michele), Gina M. Vlahos-Gomez (Tony), Peter M. Vlahos (Gen), K. Suzy Vlahos (Scott), Thomas D. Vlahos (Rae), Jennie L. Vlahos and Niece and Nephew, Tula and Nick.
We would like to recognize our little angel Jennie who took such special care of both our parents, for that they will remain eternally grateful.
