Pettious S. Clark
PLEASANT VIEW – Pettious Sullivan Clark, 89, died Thursday, September 3, 2009 at her home in Pleasant View.
She was born January 13, 1920 in Celina, Tennessee, a daughter of Benton Thomas and Mary Reecer Walker.
Pettious married James B. Sullivan Sr. on December 20, 1941 in Columbia, Tennessee. They were later divorced and James died on December 5, 1985. She later married Art Clark and Art preceded her in death on April 30, 2001.
She was raised and educated in Tennessee and moved to Ogden in 1945.
She worked as a clerk at Hill Air Force Base for many years.
Pettious loved to dance, fish, camp, and was a member of the Eagles Lodge for many years. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are four sons and one daughter, James B. Sullivan, Jr., Layton; Richard G. Sullivan, Salt Lake City; Robert W. Sullivan, Ogden; Michael N. Sullivan, Pleasant View; Sandra Ashurst, Bates, MO; three grandchildren, Jeremy J. Sullivan, Kara M. Miller, Jamie Ashurst, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters, Durell Walker, James Walker, Minnie Redford and Dauphine Hunley.
She was preceded in death by her husband Art, one daughter, Patricia Ann Sullivan, one grandson, Gary Ashurst, Jr., seven brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
