Philip Shelton Eckersley

Philip Shelton Eckersley, 82, passed away Monday, January 25, 2010.

He was born October 22, 1927 in Lehi, Utah. He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 1947 he married Beverly Milne in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Bingham, Lehi and Layton, Utah.

Together they had four children: Karen (Bruce) Allgood, Kaye Mitchell, Gordon (Debbie) Eckersley and Philip Kent Eckersley, 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a bishop, high councilor, ordinance worker in both the Ogden and Guatemala Temples and many other callings.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
