Phillip Joseph Dykeman Sr. of Cottonwood Heights, Utah passed away on March 11, 2022.
Phil was born in Tacoma, Washington on March 21, 1938 to Wanda and William Dykeman. He started his military career in the Army in 1956 where he before he transferred to the Air Force. It was at this time he met "the light" of his life, Jennie Della Thatcher, who he would later marry. To their union five children were born Daniel, Paul, Victor, Delores and Phillip Jr. He continued his military career with the Air Force from where he would retire in 1977 as a Tech Sergeant. In his civilian life he took a position in Facilities Management in the Semiconductor field.
Phil is survived by his brother, Vincent Dykeman; children, Daniel Dykeman, Delores Dykeman and Phillip Dykeman Jr.; grandchildren, Patricia Shelly, Leeanna Combrink, William Shelly, Sarah Carmack, Michael Dykeman, Daniel Dykeman, Blaine Dykeman and Phillip Dykeman III; great-grandchildren, Bentley Shelly, Daniel Richardson, Maia Richardson, Kora Calkins and Arwen Combrink. Phil was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie; parents, Wanda (Garvert) Dykeman and William Dykeman; siblings, Edith Maddox, David Dykeman, Raymond Dykeman and Doris Ursich-Hash; sons, Paul Dykeman and Victor Dykeman; and grandson, Joseph Shelly.
Graveside services will be officiated by Pastor Ronald Brown on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
