Phillip Wynn Smith, 73, of Cleburne, TX, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in Cleburne, Texas. He was born July 16, 1948, in Ogden, Utah, to Percy John and Eloise McKay Smith.

Phillip married Elisabeth Franca on June 25, 2011, in Brazil. He served in the United States Army.

He was a truck driver for over 20 years.

Phillip loved car racing, He began racing slot cars every week, later winning a lot of gymkhana races designed for speed and agility around obstacles. He loved NASCAR races. He last attended the world-famous NASCAR race in Watkins Glen, NY, with his brothers PJ and David. He recognized everyone’s car and just by looking at the car, knew who the owner was.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Smith of Cleburne, Texas; stepdaughter, Rhadja Silva of Cleburne; brothers, Michael Smith of North Ogden, Utah, David Smith of Orem, Utah, P.J. Smith of Sandy, Utah; sisters, Kathryn Downey of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Diane Reider of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Eloise; and son, Taylor Patrick Smith, who passed in Gilgore, TX in 2006.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Huntsville, Utah, Cemetery. Light refreshments will be served at the home of Beckki and Allen Endicott, 228 S 7100 E, Huntsville, Utah.
