Philo Floyd Rasmussen
Philo Floyd Rasmussen passed away on January 26, 2013 of natural causes. He was born on Ground Hog Day, February 2, 1925, in Richmond, Utah to Niels and Venice Hope Rasmussen.
He grew up in Richmond and graduated from North Cache High School.
Philo served 3 years with the Army Air Corps in the Persian Gulf. He married the love of his life, Phillis Hulse, on July 20, 1946 in Logan, Utah. He then served another 3 years in the Air Force on the Berlin Air Lift.
He was an Airplane Mechanic at Hill Air Force Base for 20 years. He loved sports, beer and talking. He took pride in his immaculate yard and garden.
Philo is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, one son, Lanny (Claudine) Rasmussen; one daughter, Sharon (Richard) Bodrero; some very special grand and great-grandchildren who adored him; one brother, Darwin (Linda) Rasmussen; and one sister, Carolyn (Ray) Gilbert.
He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Darlene, Eva Jean Monk and Virginia Murray and one brother, Edward Rasmussen; plus two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda (Edward) Boothe, and VaLee and Von "Duck" Bailey.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
The family would like to thank Apple Gate Health Care and Hospice and the VA South Ogden Clinic for their wonderful care.
