Phoebe M. Sigman
LAYTON – Phoebe M. Sigman passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Davis Hospital in Layton, at the age of 86.
She was born April 5, 1922 in Eden, Utah, a daughter of Robert E. and Mattie Ritter Fuller. Phoebe attended grade school in Eden and graduated from Weber High School in 1940. She also attended the Weber Academy.
She worked for several doctors in downtown Ogden.
She was a member of the U.S.O. and frequently went to visit soldiers at the Bushnell Army Hospital in Brigham City. There she met a wounded combat soldier, Dean Thomas Sigman. They were married September 2, 1946 in Eden. They were married for 56 years until his death in 2002.
Phoebe enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers, reading, politics, the world news, and watching basketball games. She had resided at Chancellor Gardens Assisted Living in Clearfield since May of 2006. There she enjoyed the company of many new friends.
Surviving are her daughter, Laurel Woolworth and grandson, Brodie Woolworth, both of Layton; brothers, Gale (June) and Haynes (Pat) Fuller, both of Eden; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 1 to 1:45 p.m.
Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Eden, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Humane Society of Utah.
