CLEARFIELD – Phyllis Bramall Harmer passed away peacefully on February 22, 2013 at Chancellor Gardens at the age of 88, surrounded by members of her family.
She was born December 27, 1924 in Springville, UT to Charles Ernest and Bessie Strong Bramall, the third of four children. She grew up in Springville where she graduated from Springville High School. After graduation she met the love of her life, Blaine Angus Harmer who was serving in the Army Air Force. They were married on October 17, 1944 in the Logan Temple. Days later he left his new bride to serve WWII for one year. They lived in Washington Terrace, Roy, Clearfield, Mesa, AZ, and South Ogden.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints she spent her life serving in the gospel including serving with Blaine in the Florida Jacksonville Mission.
Her family was everything to her. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, enjoyed crocheting and dancing with her sweetheart. She loved Christmas and traveling in their motor home and spending time with friends and family.
They will long be remembered for their loving relationship of 53 years. Blaine showered Phyllis with red roses and chivalry, and she loved him in sickness and in health until his passing on December 4, 1997.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings: Florence Bramall Mackenzie, Ernest LaCelle Bramall and Paul Bramall, and a great-grandson Victory Morgan Eggleston.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Kathlyn (Glen) Astle, Mtn. Green, Robert (Gloria) Harmer, Clinton, Marilyn (Carl) Blair, Kaysville and Brent (Robin) Harmer, Sahuarita, AZ, 16 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren with three more on the way.
The family expresses their deep appreciation to the caring staff at Chancellor Gardens who have done so much to make her last years comfortable and to Inspiration Hospice for their kindness during the last weeks of her life.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clearfield 11th Ward Chapel, 1176 S. 1200 E., Clearfield. Friends may visit family Tuesday, February 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 S. Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.
