Ponaivao Mika Unutoa

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ponaivao Mika Unutoa, 84, serenely passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Mama was born in Laulii, Samoa to Mika Fonoti-Satele and Valila Su’a.

On January 17, 1958, she was sealed for time and all eternity to her sweetheart, Pulusi Unutoa in the Laie, Hawaii Temple. They had five children, Lusiana, Diamond, George (Bonni), Ioane (Elizabeth), and Leilani (Saulisi). They were blessed with 18 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Mama was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many positions. To be able to give service to others brought peace to her life.

Her smiling face and witty sense of humor will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bishop Pulusi Unutoa, her daughter, Lusiana Marquez, and son, George Unutoa.
