Jewell King
OGDEN a" Roberta Jewell King, 86, died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital following a stroke.
She was born February 1, 1925 in Miami, Oklahoma, a daughter of Marvin Monroe and Alva Ruth Sapp Fitch.
On March 8, 1952, Jewell married Max Lee King in Ogden.
She lived in Paris Island, South Carolina; Oceanside, California; Camp Pendleton, California; Fruitland, Idaho; and in Ogden.
Jewell began a daycare business in 1971 and retired in 2002. She always enjoyed watching her daycare kids.
Jewell enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and babysitting. Her greatest joy was to have her grandchildren around her.
Surviving are her husband, Max, one daughter, Teresa DeeAnn (Mathew) Buller, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are three brothers, Harold Fitch, Charles Fitch and Clayton Fitch.
Preceding Jewell in death were her parents and siblings, Preston and Christine.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Canyon Hollows Ward Chapel, 1550 Rushton.
Family will meet friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
