Rachel Moneymaker Lacefield, 80, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at her home in Clearfield.

She was born July 25, 1928 in Grand Rivers, Kentucky, a daughter of George Woodard "G.W." and Alice Henson Moneymaker.

In April of 1947, Rachel married Marlow Lacefield in Kentucky. Marlow preceded her in death on January 5, 1982.

Rachel was a loving mother and a great homemaker. Whatever mountain her children wanted to climb, she was always ready to do it with them. She was a very proud, very fun loving person who everyone immediately fell in love with. Rachel always put her family first and enjoyed spending time with them. She also liked jigsaw puzzles, traveling and the outdoors.

Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Dennis (Gaylene) Lacefield, Wayne Lacefield, Johnny (Darlene) Lacefield, Renae (Roy) Brown, 27 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Rachel is also survived by her brother, Ernest "Sweet Pea" Moneymaker of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Lillian Smith and Jean Fox, and six brothers, Maurice, Harold, Johnston "Johnny", Roy "Buttons", Randolph and Charles Moneymaker.

Cremation under the direction of Lindquist''s Crematory.
