Rachel grew up in Ayers, Massachusetts and Reno, Nevada. She graduated from Robert McQueen High school. She moved to Hawaii when she was 18 and spent a few years on the beach. She moved back to Nevada for a few years and then moved to Kaysville, Utah.
She would eventually meet Wade Shipman and have a daughter together Alexis Ryanne Shipman, she soon separated from him and met Gilbert Tyler whom she was married to for 23 years they had a daughter together after trying for five years Cassidy Blair Tyler. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved to spend time with family and love on her grandkids.
Rachel was an extremely considerate and loving woman; she was strong and resilient throughout her life challenges. She made everyone around her feel special and cared for, She was so funny and had a beautiful loud laugh that would make you laugh too when you heard it. She was always thinking of others even when she didn’t have the funds to do so, she always had a small gift or a sweet note
for the people she loved every time you saw her, she would often gift journals or books with a heartfelt note written in the front cover full of inspiring messages and I love you’s.
My mom was a beautiful poet and when I was younger, she would often read poetry to me in the bath, before bed, whenever she had a chance to honestly. This is a poem I found in one of her many journals it was written in April 2019 its titled Pursuit
“Pouring over manuscripts
And piecing people’s deeds,
Allowing every “if” to speak,
Going where that leads,
I find my footprints further
From the paths I’ve pursued.
I find a loss in absolute
A growth in solitude.
A search is what I’m on,
Though I do not
Know its goal.
Perhaps I probe
Each
Part of life-
That I may grasp
Its whole.”
