Rae S. Hodson

On December 1, 2011 our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Rae S. Hodson was taken from us due to injuries sustained in a tragic auto-pedestrian accident in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Rae was born on October 29, 1925 in Monroe, UT to Emil and Hazel Robinson Swindle. She graduated from Monroe North High School and attended North Texas State University graduating with a degree in accounting. Rae then moved to Ogden where she met and married Layne "Hod" Hodson on January 28, 1966. She then began a very successful career as a Certified Public Accountant at Hill AFB, retiring in 1987. Rae and "Hod" were married for 24 years until his death on November 9, 1990.

Rae later moved to Salt Lake City where she enjoyed her weekly Bridge Club, traveling with her friends and her daily walks with her "best friend" Beau. Rae was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, never missing a family function, a birthday, or a chance to help. She led a full and accomplished life and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rae is survived by one son, Scott (Stephanie) Hodson, three daughters, Joan (Garth) Widdison, Wynn (Edd) Hurtado, and Margaret (Steve) Hales, 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley (Stan) Feulner, Yvonne (Max) Bastian, two brothers, Max Swindle, John (Sharon) Swindle, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
