Raelene Shively passed away on March 26, 2023, at her home in Harrisville, Utah. She was born on July 3, 1946 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Ezekiel Ray and Crystal LuDean Chapman Greenhalgh. She grew up in Layton, Utah and graduated from Davis High School in 1964.
She spent her career at Hill Air Force Base working in the F-16 program. It was there that she met the love of her life, Jon Wood Shively. They were married in Ogden, Utah on May 20, 2006. They had been married for nearly 10 years when Jon passed away on May 1, 2016.
After Jon’s death, Raelene returned to activity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and devoted her life to serving her family and the church. She was currently serving as 1st Counselor in the Relief Society of the Colonial Springs Ward. She was very involved in Family History and Temple Work. Raelene and Jon were sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple on July 22, 2017.
Raelene is survived by her brother, Blaine (Jan) Greenhalgh; nephews and nieces, David (Crystal) Greenhalgh, Andrea White, Taylor (Samira) Greenhalgh and Scott (Laura) Greenhalgh. She loved her great-nephews and nieces and was like a grandmother to them, Brayden, Dylan, Keaton, Garrett, Addison, Charlie, William, James, Paige, Walker and Crew. She was deeply involved in the lives of all of these family members and was affectionately “Auntie” to them all. They loved her dearly!
Raelene was preceded in death by her husband, Jon; father and mother, Ray and LuDean Greenhalgh and her brother, Randy Greenhalgh.
Private family graveside services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Evergreen Memorial Park.
A celebration of life luncheon will be held on March 31, 2023, at 12 p.m. for her ward and family.
