OGDEN – Rafel “Ray” A. Yates, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 16, 1922 in Yost, Utah to Edward H. and Etta May Coleman. Ray married the love of his life, Stella Milito, on January 30, 1943 in Ogden. He served with the U.S. Army for three years during World War II. He worked for Defense Depot Ogden retiring in 1973. Ray and Stella enjoyed square dancing, camping and traveling. They spent 10 winters in Yuma, Arizona. He also loved horses, hunting and fishing with his friends. Surviving are his wife, Stella, of Ogden; children, Raylene (Ross) Western, Ogden; Sharlene (Mick) Freund, Colorado; Terry (Tammy) Yates, Ogden; Valerie (Greg) Burkhart, Nevada; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceding Ray in death were his parents, brothers, Clarence, Colyn, Clifford, Wayne and Lyle; sisters, Lorna and Flora; and grandson Elijah Williams. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
