Ralph E. Dickman, Sr.
OGDEN - Our beloved Ralph Edling Dickman, Sr. passed away peacefully August 6, 2008, in Ogden, Utah at the age of 86.
Ralph was born January 29, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Signe Edling and William F. Dickman.
Ralph married his sweetheart, Loraine Newman, August 15, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ralph was an active and devoted member of the LDS church. He served a full-time mission to Canada and held various positions within ward and stake organizations. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He was a teacher of biology and botany by profession. He was passionate and took pride in the work that he did. He devoted many of his last years to genealogical research. But above all, his greatest joy and love was his family.
Ralph is survived by children Ralph (Alison) Dickman, Jr., Steven (Annette) Dickman, and Bruce (Cara) Dickman, 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and a brother Vernon (DeBeth) Dickman. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Loraine, his daughter Elna Pectol, his brother Earl, and a great-granddaughter Elise Davies.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all doctors, nurses, and staff at the Manor Care facilities, Pinnacle Hospice, and Lindquist and Metcalf Mortuaries. Ralph is loved and will be missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held August 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. Friends and family may call Sunday 6 to 8 pm. and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
