Ralph Ashcroft Duce

Ralph Ashcroft Duce, 95, passed away Monday morning, January 26, 2015, at home in Ogden, with his wife beside him. He was born on September 30, 1919, to Willard and Alice Ashcroft Duce in Hyde Park, UT, where he was raised. He received a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University, and always continued to study.
He married Lorraine Parkinson on May 3, 1944, in the Logan LDS Temple. They celebrated 70 years of marriage last year.
Ralph was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served faithfully as a teacher, ward clerk, and ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls and Ogden temples.
He loved his roses and his farm animals. He enjoyed reading books of all kinds.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; son, Durrell Duce of Mesa, AZ; daughters, Peggy Ann (Frank) Culler of Farmington, NM, and Jolene Lytle of Ogden; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Franklin; grandson Stephen Frank Culler; and daughter-in-law, Faye Adele Campbell Duce.
The family expresses sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. T. Sharman Sutherland for his careful concern and care.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Waterfall Canyon Ward, 3254 Polk Ave., Ogden. Friends may visit family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary. Interment in Wellsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the LDS Missionary Fund.
