Ralph Jay Green

December 29, 1931 – May 27, 2017

Our husband, dad, brother, grandpa, great-grandpa and great-great-grandpa, Ralph Jay Green, was born on December 29, 1931 in Syracuse, Utah to Ralph Beazer and Thelma Briggs Green.  He tragically and unexpectedly passed away on May 27, 2017 in Ogden, Utah.

Jay was born and raised in Syracuse on the Tanner farm.  This is where his strong work ethic began.  He worked 37 years at Hill Air Force Base retiring in 1987.

He married his sweetheart of 64 years, Mary Penman on April 2, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple.

His greatest joy was his family, visiting Yellowstone National Park, fishing, keeping his cars spotless and baseball games.

Jay is survived by his wife Mary, children, Ronald Jay (Sonja) Green, Clearfield; daughters, LouAnn (Brent) Young, Vernal; Patricia Hancock, Hooper; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and brother, Blair (Judy) Green.

Preceded in death by his son Michael Jay Green, parents, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield Park Ward, 838 E. 600 So., Clearfield.  Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
