Ralph Alton Poulson passed away with his family at his bedside on May 22, 2024.
Ralph was born on March 2, 1932 in Ogden, Utah. He grew up in Tooele, Utah and graduated from Tooele High School in 1950, where he played basketball and football. Ralph joined the military and served as a proud member of the United States Air Force. He met the love of his life, Geneva, at a dance called the Stockton Stomp. A few months later, Ralph married Geneva on July 14, 1954.
Ralph was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and believed in the importance of family. Ralph and Geneva made Layton, Utah their permanent home in 1958, where they raised their son and two daughters. He spent his career working at Hill Air Force Base as a civilian employee. Ralph enjoyed golfing, traveling with his wife in their RV, and going out to eat with friends.
Ralph is survived by his two daughters, Diana (Cal) Buttars and Karma Robinson; three younger brothers, Frank (Inge), Rod (Kay), and Bob (Rhonda): ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and even a few great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Geneva Poulson; father, Alton “Si” Poulson; mother, Gladys Poulson; father-in-law, Edwin Finch; older brother, Don (Georgia) Poulson; son, Jerry “JP” Poulson; grandson-in-law, Chet Atkinson; and great-grandson, Dakota “Doc” Butler, and his very dear best friend, Bert Gines.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
