Ralph Boyd Price

Ralph Boyd Price (Haus), passed away peacefully Saturday, May 9, 2015, after a long struggle of on-going health complications, with his loving wife by his side.
He was born September 28, 1949 in Ogden, Utah the son of Ralph Bowen and LaVon Rogers Price. He had two sisters Sheryl and LouAnn.
He graduated from Weber High School, excelling in basketball and football. He received full scholarships for his abilities. Boyd graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree. He also received a Master’s degree in Hospital Management/Business.
Boyd served an LDS Mission in the New England States.
Boyd married the love of his life, Leslie Jean Smith in St. Thomas on November 6, 2005. This began their travels together where they spent some of the happiest times of their lives. One of Boyd’s favorite trips was when he took his kids and grandkids to Playa Del Carmen on a “retreat”.
He was a Major in the U.S. Air Force. He was a Para Rescuer and a member of Para Jumpers (PJ’s) 57th AES. His career included, Chief of Medical Training USAF Para rescue School, Kirtland, NM; Intensive Care Charge Nurse, Travis AFB, CA; and Chief, Medical Aid Station High Wycombe, England. His career accomplishments included the Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, Outstanding Unit Award Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and AF Training Ribbon. He served in support of the Gulf War and Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He retired from the military in 1993.
After his military retirement, he continued his nursing career, working at Hill AFB, the Union Pacific Railroad, and Tesoro, retiring with 42 years as a nurse.
He enjoyed boating, water skiing, camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, Hallmark Christmas movies, cars (old and new), and he loved his Mountain Dew.
Boyd led an adventurous, beautiful and loving life. Boyd Price was a man of colossal character and could brighten anyone’s day with his smile. Renowned for his extensive “Price version” stories, Boyd was nothing less than endearing and exuded joy. His love was profound and sincere and those who were lucky enough to be part of his life will remember him in adoration.
Boyd leaves behind his wife, Leslie, whom he cared for and loved immensely; step-children, Ryan and Jenny Rackham, Jamie and Ted Lucas, Trevor and Cooper Rackham-Evans, and grandchildren, (Papa’s Babies), Cooper, Mason, Kendall, Morgan, and Reese whom he adored; his sister, Sheryl and William Lowe, nephews, Trevor and Kris Doman, Cord Doman and niece, Kami and Darrell Hinton, many other nieces and nephews and extended families that will forever treasure his kindheartedness; and Lizzie and Augustus Ralph – his two Chihuahua-Yorkie pups that brought him happiness.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, LouAnn Nielson.
Boyd – you will be missed and grieved by many, but never forgotten by all.

At Boyd’s request, Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 556 East 2900 North, all friends and family are welcome.
