CLEARFIELD – Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Ralph H. Thomas, “Buzz” passed away May 17, 2013 at the age of 90 at his last residence in Chancellor Gardens.
Buzz was born January 14, 1923 in Provo, Utah to Leo and Mable Snow Thomas. He married his sweetheart, Carol Moffitt, May 29, 1943 in Provo, and was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had four wonderful children, ten special grandchildren and 30 beautiful great-grand children.
Buzz joined the Navy at a young age and served his country during World War II. He retired from HAFB after nearly 30 years as a civil service employee.
Buzz loved fishing, hunting, golfing but most of all spending time with his family and watching his kids and grandkids play ball.
Buzz was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. He was a fun and caring person who made friends wherever he went.
Buzz is preceded in death by his sweet wife Carol, a son Roger, two great-grandsons; Kelon and Camden, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by three children; Gary Thomas, LA, CA; Ron (Julie) Thomas, Syracuse, UT; Cheryl (Gaylen) Simmons, Farmington, UT and daughter-in-law, Debbie Thomas, Clearfield, UT.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, UT. Friends may visit with family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Mortuary.
The family expresses gratitude to all those involved for their loving care.
