Ramon Ignacio Palomo Beteta, 92, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010 at his home.
He was born May 4, 1918 in Guatemala, Guatemala City to Jose Ignacio Palomo and Mercedes Beteta Palomo.
In September 1945, Ramon married Gloria Ester Palomo Pineda in Guatemala, Guatemala City.
He worked as a train engineer for the Guatemala Railroad and retired after 36 years of service.
Ramon was a member of the Catholic Church.
He enjoyed music, dancing and horses. Ramon took pride in his appearance and always dressed very well. He loved his family.
Ramon is survived by his wife, Gloria; a son, Luis (Aracely) Palomo, Fontana, CA; five daughters, Rosa (Allen) Ermer, Roy; Adinia Chavez, Roy; Frieda (Ken) Duryee, Roy; Elly (Tony) Klatt, Hooper; Gloria Veronica (Jay) Rivera, Roy; 19 grandchildren , 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ignacio Palomo and a sister, Olivia Palomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Jose Pepe, Rodolfo and Oscar Palomo, two sisters, Teresa Duran, Isabel Cartagena, a son-in-law, Gilbert Chavez, and a grandson, Jason Ermer.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 10th at 10 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, with Reverend Rodney Hamilton, officiating.
A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
