Randal H. Noorlander

Randy passed away on February 14th, 2011 after an epic and courageous 14 month battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Randy was born November 18, 1960 to John and Carla Noorlander in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was sealed for time and all eternity to Lori Ann Godfrey in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 6, 1985. They have four wonderful children.

He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1979. He graduated from Weber State College in 1986 with a BS in medical technology. His professional career included medical technology, computer programming, and computer lab implementations. He most recently worked for McKesson as an implementation consultant. He and his children ran a lawn care business for many years. This is where he taught his children valuable lessons of hard work.

Randy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony. He served in the Birmingham England Mission from 1979-1981. Some of his church callings included elder''s quorum president, bishopric counselor, high counselor, stake young men''s president, and most importantly home teacher. He viewed home teaching as the most important calling in the church. Many families benefited from his selfless acts of service.

He is survived by his wife Lori, and children Melissa, Andrew (Taisa Thompson), Blake, and Mariah; his parents John and Carla; brothers Ken and Derik; and mother-in-law Lona Godfrey. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary, his father-in-law LaVar Godfrey and his many beloved grandparents. He loved and continually served his extended family.

Randy was an avid gardener and maintained a beautiful yard. He prepared delicious Dutch oven dishes, enjoyed wood working, and designed stained glass windows. He coached his children''s soccer teams for over 15 years. Randy''s mission was to serve others. He was always available to help others with yard work and home repair projects. He could sense when someone needed a friend. One neighbor concluded that in his 50 years he gave at least a hundred years worth of service.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hansen, Dr. Ingersol, their staffs at McKay Dee Hospital and the Bone Marrow Transplant Team at LDS Hospital. They also appreciate the countless acts of love and service performed by friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Rock Chapel, 25 South 200 East. Friends may visit family on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
