Randall Robert Lagan
OGDEN- Randall Robert Lagan, 82, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 surrounded by his family.
Randy was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 28, 1929 to Randall Clifford and Marie Lindley Lagan.
He served his country during the Korean War as a cryptographer in the Army stationed in the Aleutian Islands and later as a cryptography instructor in the Air Force.
He graduated from UCLA with a BS in Engineering. After graduation, Randy accepted a position with North American Aviation, Autonetics division. He helped develop the guidance system for the Minuteman Missile. While in Florida working on the system, Randy met Lillian W. Scott. Randy and Scotty were married in Shalimar, Florida on February 14, 1959. Later that year they returned to California.
Randy worked for North American Rockwell for 30 years and after a five day retirement went to work for TRW.
An avid outdoorsman his entire life, Randy fished, camped, and hiked the western U.S. including climbing Mt. Whitney. He was an active participant and coach for his son and daughter''s athletic teams in their youth. He loved the Lord and worshipped at Washington Heights Baptist Church.
Randy is survived by his wife Scotty, his son Scott (Andrea) Lagan; his daughter Kimberly Rodell; his grandchildren: Carina (Nathan) French, Andrew Faletto, Alex Kohler, Madeline Kohler, Sarah Lagan and Nicholas Lagan; and his great granddaughter, Arianna French.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice For Utah for the care and concern shown to Randy.
