LAYTON – Randy Alan Nielsen, 62, passed away September 17, 2016 at his home.
He was born November 11, 1953 in Ogden, Utah the son of Orval J. Barnes and Dorothy Nielsen.
He had resided in Morgan, Ogden and Layton. Randy traveled for work to various states and to England.
Randy’s two greatest loves in his life were his grandchildren and his cats. He took in three FIV positive cats two of which have now passed away. He was a member of Animal Angels and Cause for Paws Utah.
Randy liked working on cars, anything electrical and spending time with his grandchildren.
Randy had a saying that “No good deed goes unpunished.” But he did not live by his own rule. He was always willing to help anyone even strangers and was a generous man.
Surviving are his daughters, Brandi Rawson, Lindsay Baird, three grandchildren, Kiley Rawson, Kayden Rawson, Bryson Baird, brother Bruce, sisters, Connie, Sandy, Peggy, Cindy, step-mother, Effie Barnes, ex-wife Colleen Nielsen and his cats, Koshka and Tiny.
Preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Nielsen, father, Orval Barnes, daughter, Kelsey Nielsen and cat Charity.
