Randy King Potokar

Randy King Potokar, 67, passed away Wednesday June 28, 2017 surrounded by family that he adored and cherished.

Randy was born in Ogden, Utah on August 12th, 1949, and raised in Riverdale, Utah with his parents (Elmer and Bertha) and three brothers (Alan, Rick, and Mike).  He graduated from Roy High School in 1967.  In 1970, he married Rosalie English in Ogden, Utah.  They divorced in 1991.  He married Barbara Simister in Riverdale, Utah.  They were later divorced but remained close until his death.

He worked for Kimberly Clark and Union Pacific Railroad. He served in the United States Army Reserves for 6 years.   He spent a great deal of time at Sourdough Wilderness Ranch in his last years.  He managed the ranch and cabin and developed many close friendships during this time.

Randy is survived by his significant other, Barbara Simister; children: Krystal (Mike) Wood and Kyle (Heather) Potokar; and his grandchildren: Taylor Wood, Dustin Wood, Ryker Potokar, Kalli Potokar, Fisher Potokar and Aspen Potokar.  He is also survived by his brothers: Alan (Jean) Potokar, Rick Potokar and Mike Potokar.

Graveside services will be Monday, July 3, 2017, at Hooper City Cemetery, 10:00 am.  Internment, Hooper Cemetery, 5340 South 6300 West, Hooper, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, and in his honor, spend time with those you love, take a walk in the fresh air and plant a flower or tree in his memory.
