Randy Mark Sorensen, age 42 passed away Monday February 1, 2021 at his home in Layton, Utah after battling ALS diagnosed December of 2020. He was born January 20, 1979 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mark L. Sorensen and Bonnie Jean Jarboe Sorensen.

Randy grew up in Kearns Utah where he graduated from Kearns High School in 1997 where he enjoyed being the photographer for the Kernada yearbook. During high school and for years later Randy worked for Arctic Circle where he met many that would become lifelong friends. He later was employed by Lexington Law Firm as a paralegal.

Randy met his Sweetheart Jenny Lynn Jensen December of 2004 and they were married July 22, 2005. Randy and Jenny were later sealed as an Eternal Family on July 22, 2015 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.

Randy enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his family from the beginning of his life with his parents and two younger brothers camping and fishing at Fish Lake, until the very end with family and friends and especially his girls. Randy enjoyed the time he got to coach his daughter’s soccer teams and working with the AYSO. He looked forward to hunting with his father-in-law, brother-in-law’s and family friends each year. They taught him to enjoy golf, and it became a sport he loved to play. He had an undying love for the Utah Utes and had many great times arguing over which team is better with his Cousins and Uncles during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings even in recent years.

Randy had a great love for the Gospel as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he did what he could to instill his love for the Savior and the importance of the Plan of Salvation and Atonement of Christ in the lives of his daughters.

Randy is survived by his Wife of 16 years Jenny Lynn Jensen Sorensen, Daughters BrookLynn Sue, MarLee Jean, and LyLa Marie, his Parents Mark and Bonnie Sorensen, grandfather LaGrand Sorensen, father and mother-in-law Larry and Toni Jensen, brothers James (Amanda), and Bryan (Megan). sister-in-law Johanna (Clark) Banner, brothers-in-law Lee (Bre) Jensen, Kelly (Megan) Jensen, and Kurt (Andrea) Jensen, Jenny’s grandfather Virgil Lee Jensen, nieces and nephews, Amber, Allie, Julie, Daniel, Ashton, Parker, Keymirra, Jackson, Kaci, and Brikell, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Randy is preceded in death by his grandmother Karen Suzanne Salisbury Sorensen, grandmother Ursula Segler Beaumont, grandfather Russell C. Jarboe, Jenny’s grandparent Lorna Jean, and A.J. Spencer, and grandmother Marian Nelson Jensen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
