Randy Lane Vine, “Vu”, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 8, 2014.
He was born November 29, 1977 in SHAPE Belgium to Robert Lewis and Margene Crockett Vine. Randy moved with his family to Sunset, Utah in 1984. He attended school in Sunset and Roy, and he graduated from Washington High School in Ogden, Utah.
Randy loved playing and watching all sports. He was an avid fan of the 49ers, the Jazz, and the A’s. Randy loved camping, hunting and fishing with his family and friends. One of his favorite things to do was hang out with his family, and he was loved dearly by his nephews and nieces. He was so proud of them, and they looked up to him as a role model.
Randy was a very hard worker, and he earned many praises and awards. He worked construction and landscaping, and he worked at Cornerstone, Lifetime, and HAFB. He was currently working at BlackTurtle Services where he loved the job and the people he worked with. Randy was a friend to, and loved by, everyone he met. He had a huge heart, and he was always the first to offer help to anyone in need.
Randy was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; John E. and Edna P. Vine, and Royal A. and Bertha A. Crockett.
Randy is survived by his fiancée Jami Graham, Layton; parents Robert L. and Margene C. Vine, Sunset; three brothers and one sister, Robert “Bo” (Deb), Sunset; Raymond (Dawn), Layton; Rusty “Roo” (Annette), North Ogden; and Michelle Wood, Sunset. He is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces. The Vine family would like to extend their sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation to the BlackTurtle Services for their love, support, and friendship to the “Beast.”
Family and friends may visit Friday, February 14th from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, February 15th from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. For the viewing, the family asks to honor Randy by wearing jeans and any team shirt/Jersey.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
