Ray Brines, beloved husband and father passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013. Ray was born April 7, 1953 to Carl and Alma Brines in Salt Lake City, UT.

Ray grew up in Southern California and served faithfully in the Montana/Wyoming LDS mission from 1972-1974. He married his wife, Barbara Haskett on August 1, 1975 in the Provo, UT Temple. Ray and Barbara have four children.

He attended college at SUSC in Cedar City, UT earning a bachelor''s degree in industrial arts. Ray was a printer by trade and a master craftsman of woodworking. He amazed us with his talent, wisdom and patience for teaching. Ray was a dedicated and loving husband and father who enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Ray lived a life of honor, honesty and integrity. We could not have asked for a better example to follow in life.

Ray is survived by his parents Carl and Alma Brines, wife Barbara, sons, Alan Brines, Benjamin Brines, daughters, Laura Brines Butters, Melissa (Nick) Christiansen, brother Carl Brines II, and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse 5th ward LDS Chapel, 1475 W. 700 S. Syracuse, UT where friends may visit with family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Relief Society room.

Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
