Ray Earl Burdett, M.D., 92, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at his home.
He was born April 11, 1918 in Ogden, Utah, the third of four children, to Alfred J. and Margaret Gibbons Burdett.
He attended Weber College from 1936 to 1938 and the University of Utah from 1938 to 1940, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. From 1940 to 1944, he attended Northwestern Medical School. His medical internship was at California Lutheran from 1945 to 1947. In 1949, he began his medical practice in Ogden and is an original founding member of the Ogden Clinic.
Dr. Burdett served as past President and staff member of St. Benedict''s Hospital, past Chief of Pediatrics at McKay-Dee Hospital. He was a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Ray is survived by his wife, Lorraine, his children, Brent (Anita) Burdett, Ogden; Susan Burdett, Ephraim; Tom (Debra) Burdett, South Jordan; James (Katie) Burdett, Mt. Vernon, IL; Laurence (Rebbi) Burdett, Ogden; nine grandchildren,
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 3rd at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
