Ray Wesley Moss

Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend, Ray Wesley Moss passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at his home on August 15, 2018. He was born on May 24, 1928. He married his sweetheart, Joyce Elaine Byers Moss, on June 30, 1949. He was raised in Ogden, Utah. He went to Ogden High School, graduated from Weber State University and The University of Utah. Ray proudly served as a handsome sailor, in the United States Navy, during WWII and Korean War aboard the U.S.S Norton Sound. He loved watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren perform in their activities. His passion was his family.
He was in and actively involved with the Weber County Sheriff’s Posse. He ran many successful businesses such as Yellow Cab, Moss Ambulance, Avis Rental Car, Conval-Aid Medical Supply, and Powder Ridge Village at Powder Mountain Ski Resort. He was President in Toastmasters and Kiwanis for many years. Throughout his life he actively enjoyed golf, bowling, boating, hunting, camping, climbing the Grand Teton, a pilot flying his private plane, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Joyce; children: Sandra (Terry) Robinson, Kevin (Roberta) Moss, Karlene (Brent) Lindley, Sharon (Michael) Perez, Susan (Michael) Parry; grandchildren, Ryan (Kristie) Robinson, Melissa (Tom) Georges, Richard-Paul Harges, George (Emily) Robinson, John Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Angee (Jeff) Stock, Kelly (Jackie) Moss, Jeremiah (Rachel) Moss, Dustin Moss, Danny (Melinda) Moss, Heather Lindley, Allison Lindley, Sara Lindley, Zachary Holland, Rachel Holland, Benjamin Holland, MaKenzie Smith, Mason Smith, Amber Parry, and Anna Parry; great-grandchildren: James Robinson, Laura Robinson, Melanie Robinson, Westley Robinson, Benjamin Robinson, Nicholas Georges, Jack Georges, Beckham Robinson, Avery Robinson, Sage Stock, Aspen Stock, MeKell Moss, Ryklie Moss, Kreed Moss, Jayden Moss, Dawson Moss, Maggie Moss, Molly Moss, and Riley Holland-Cummings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clyde and Neil; son, Kerry Moss; granddaughter, Brianna Moss; and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the mortuary. Ray will be laid to rest at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
Lunch to follow at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Lorin Farr 3rd Ward, 1570 East 1300 South, Ogden, Utah.
