RAY JARED SMITH

1931-2014

Ray Jared Smith passed away February 13, 2014 in Bountiful, Utah, just in time to spend Valentines Day with his Sweetheart.  He was born December 23, 1931 in Pueblo, Colorado, to Burrell Swanson and Elva Leone Richins Smith.  He married Jolene Tonks on October 5, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah

Ray worked for EIMCO for over 30 years.  He was a talented and gifted craftsman who loved working with metal art, wood carving and making rock jewelry.  He also enjoyed oil painting, music and reading.

He is survived by his sons, Russell (Kim), David (Chris) Daniel (Lillie); six daughters, Susan Gourde, Candy (Kurt) Setterburg, Laurie (Brent) Hayes, Heidi (John) Reeves, Kimberlee (Moe) Lund and Jennifer Smith; sister Norma , sister-in-law Bernice Smith; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jolene, parents, twin brother Roy, and numerous pets.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, UT.  Interment Lakeview Memorial Park at a later date.
