Ray Youngblood
WASHINGTON TERRACE – Ray Youngblood, 87, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Washington Terrace.
Ray was born March 3, 1921 in Lillie, Louisiana, a son of John Henry and Susie Thornton Youngblood.
He moved to Ogden in 1945 and began working for Ogden Arsenal, later transferring to Hill Air Force Base. He worked as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic retiring in 1983.
Ray was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ogden.
Surviving are his son, Burdett M. (Patricia) Youngblood, Washington Terrace; three grandchildren, Erika Peebles, South Ogden; Kendall Ray (Jill) Youngblood, South Jordan; Kameron M. (Carla) Youngblood, Idaho Falls, ID; seven great-grandchildren, London Kiyo, Danika, Savannah, Braxton Patrick, Daylor Ray, Dason Burdett and Myles Marshall.
He is also survived by his brothers, Javance (Genelle) Youngblood, Homer, LA; Norwood L. Youngblood, Atlanta, GA; Silas T. (Linda) Youngblood, Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Ruthelle Martin, Washington Terrace; Margaret Gardiner, Los Angeles, CA; Hollis McPhail, Reminderville, OH; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Preceding Ray in death were his parents, brothers, Edward Carl and Donald Kendrick, and sister, Belle Smith.
The Youngblood Family would like to thank Washington Terrace Health Services for their kindness and care, and LifePath Hospice, as well as the Martin Family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
