Our loving husband, father, and G-pa Raymond Ronald Anderson passed away at his home in Layton, Utah, surrounded by family on July 19, 2018. He was 76 years old.
He was born in Seattle, Washington, July 18, 1942 to Raymond Harold and Elsie Elizabeth Heberlein Anderson. He graduated from Grandview High School. His father passed when he was 13 years old and even as a young man he took on great responsibility for his family. He cared deeply for his mother and sister and always ensured they were well cared for.
He served honorably in the US Navy for four years, 1962-1966. His favorite places he traveled were South Pacific, Japan, Hawaii and New Zealand and he always wanted to go back there someday. He was transferred to Utah by Western Union in 1966. He was an electrician at Hill Air Force Base for 30 years.
He was married to Vicky Anne Evans June 20, 1970 in Parowan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple June 20, 1973. He was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, April 24, 1971 by his father-in-law, Arthur B. Evans.
He was a funny, goofy guy and always in a good mood. He will be dearly missed by his family. His favorite thing to do was to be with family and loved being surrounded by them. He also had a love for collecting old coins and going to antique car shows.
He is survived by his wife Vicky; daughters Jennifer Lawrence, Annie Anderson, and Ronda (Chris) Kelsey; son Raymond Randall (Carol) Anderson; sister Judy Lynn (Gary) McClanahan; grandchildren Jared, Sara, Kara, Ryan (Danielle) and Michael Lawrence; Natalie, Arthur, and Amber Anderson, Nala, Keri, Chris Jr. and Josh Kelsey; great-grandchildren Rylee and Kaylee Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Kent Lawrence.
