A free spirit who loved everything about the outdoors. Canoeing, hunting, fishing, hiking you name it he was ready.
Growing up as a military child he moved around a lot, living in numerous states from one side of the country to the other. He fell in love with Maine and Utah and lived in each for a while where he made many lifelong friends. In his 20’s he moved across the country from Utah to North Carolina for a job and decided to make it home. He lived there for over 40 years on 17 beautiful acres of land which bordered a lake.
Ray became a household name in the city of Henderson as a self-employed licensed HAVC Specialist for 35 years. He was a hardworking man and enjoyed working with his hands. He worked with copper, enhancing homes all around the city.
He loved being close to the ocean and lakes so he could canoe with his buddies when they stayed at the cabin. He also enjoyed going to see lighthouses all over the East coast. He lived in Henderson/Oxford until his health began to decline and he moved back to Utah to be closer to family.
Ray enjoyed life and lived a good one. We are thankful to have had him close for his last six months of his life.
He was loved as a son, brother, friend, and mentor by many families across the nation.
He is preceded in death by his father Bobbie Coleman and mother Beverly Coleman.
Survived by his siblings Pamela (Rick) Camp, Richard Coleman, Patricia (Robert) Van Drunen, and his niece and nephews Stephanie (Scott) Rhoades daughters Shiloh and Skylar, Daniel (Julia) Camp children Forrest and Zuzana and Samantha Van Drunen.
Rest in peace dear brother
