Raymond Joseph Etcheverry

August 11, 1921 ~ June 20, 2016

Raymond Joseph Etcheverry, age 94, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2016.  He lived a long productive and happy life with his one and only love, Julia, to whom he was married for 68 years.

He was a woolgrower and rancher, actively working into his 80’s.  He graduated from Ogden High School in 1939, where he was an outstanding student and accomplished pianist.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Julia, his five children, Claire (Roland) Etcheverry, Roseville, CA; Raymond J. (Kathryn) Etcheverry, Salt Lake City, UT; Daniel (Anita) Etcheverry, Layton, UT; Josette Etcheverry, San Pedro, CA; and Julie Rae (Michael) Sullivan, Ogden, UT; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Marie Louise Yriarte.

He was preceded in death by his father, his mother and his brother, John.

The family would like to thank his hospice caregivers, Julie, Marcos and Ryan, and his caregivers, Javier and Aaron, all of whom cared for him with great kindness.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd., Ogden, Utah.  Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, at 10 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Ogden

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to the St. James Building Fund or a charity of your choice.

Turn East to Harrison Blvd.

At Harrison turn right (South) to 495 North Harrison
