Raymond “Ray” E. Hansen

January 10, 1948 ~ March 1, 2015

Ray passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at home surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with Peripheral Vascular Disease.

Ray was born January 10, 1948 in Missouri to Oliver and Carol Hansen. Joining the military at a young age and starting his own family at the age of 22. Ray married his wife Pamela Snouffer, February 20, 1970.

The two of them together have 16 children with the opportunity to be the parents of several more foster children along the way. Ray enjoyed going on family vacations to Disneyland and Las Vegas to see his mother-in-law. Spending quality time with his children and grandchildren were his joy in life, watching crazy videos, dancing and wrestling in the house.

He served in the U.S. Navy from April 23, 1965, where he also served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged with a National Defense Service Medal on October 3, 1968. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 27 years as a Civil Engineer/Civil Service.

He is survived by his wife Pam Hansen, children Tabitha Adams (Rick), Lori Mayfield, April Roberts (Kelly), Lee-Ann Monson (Cliff), Will Hansen (Sunshine), Louis Hansen (Kim), Rhonda Adreon (Spyder), Priscilla Hansen (Sean), Valerie Perez, Miguel Hansen, Marcella Hansen, Kelsey Hansen, Dimitri Hansen, Marcus Hansen, Candace Rickard and one step daughter Susan Cameron (Rex), along with 32 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one more great grandbaby on the way, his sister Myrna Lowe (Gary), sister-in-law, Sandy Ayala, five nephews and one niece.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Jessie Hansen, father, Oliver James Hansen, brother, Ronnie Hansen, father-in- law William Snouffer, mother-in-law Bonnie Snouffer, and his best friend/brother Gary Bodily.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
