North Ogden-Raymond F. Honing died December 4, 2021 in North Ogden, Utah.
He was born November 17, 1932 in Harrisville, Utah. He was the son of William and Viola Saunders Honing.
He married Evelyn L. Slater on February 17, 1955, in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent 66 years together.
He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State University. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving honorably with the USAF from 1951 to 1955. He had worked at Defense Depot Ogden and Hill Air Force, where he had been a Section Chief in the Data Automation Division and retired in 1981 after 30 years of Federal Service. He then worked for UNISYS as a manager in the SLC Development Center, retiring in 1991. He had also been a real estate agent.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling and had traveled extensively after his retirement. They visited many interesting places throughout the world, making new friends and visiting historical places. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and being in the mountains.
He was a member of the North Ogden 7th Ward where he was a High Priest and had served in several positions.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two daughters and their spouses, Karen (Richard) Baggs, North Ogden, Joanne (Andy) Deiter, Perry; one son, Keith R. (Rebecca) Honing, North Ogden; sister, Marilyn (Theron) Fowers, Pleasant View; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Afton Hancock; and brother, Fred Honing.
Private services were held for the immediate family by Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. 400 E., North Ogden, UT. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
