Raymond Hyrum Smith

October 18, 1934 ~ January 27, 2016

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Raymond Hyrum Smith, 81, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at his home.

He was born October 18, 1934 to William Vernon and Robbie Beaver Smith.

On May 3, 1957, Raymond married Naomi Clark in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He worked for his brother’s construction company, Z.P. Smith Construction. He worked 32 years before retiring.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 58 years, Naomi C. Smith; five daughters, Eldene Smith, Roy; Reylynn (Jeff) Johnson, Hooper; Evona Smith, Roy; Cathy Smith, Roy; Maryann Smith, Clearfield; three grandchildren, Brandy, Richard, Shannon; one brother, Joseph D. Smith and one sister, Betty (Max) Christensen. He was preceded in death by his son, James Ray Smith, five brothers and five sisters.

We wish to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice, his nurse, Brandy, and a special thank you to Jake, his CNA, who took wonderful care of him; you are truly an angel.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Hooper Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West. The family will meet with friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
