Raymond James McDonough, 72, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. He was born on March 25, 1945 in Ogden, UT, the son of Thomas and Florence Peck McDonough. He attended school at St. Joseph’s.

Raymond married Nancy Grant on August 16, 2003 in Ogden, Utah.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight, and his favorite ministry was bringing Communion to the sick at Manor Care Nursing facility.

Raymond worked for the Utah Department of Corrections for 27 ½ years “without ever taking a day of sick leave.” He truly believed in second chances and the rehabilitation of the human mind and soul.

He was a Marine (Semper Fi) joining at 17. He ran a golf tournament for Utah as a benefit on behalf of the Department of Corrections.

Raymond enjoyed his Church, golf, and his gym.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Brenda, Natalie, and Jason; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike and Pat; and sisters, Theresa, Lois, and Mary; and his fur babies, Bunny and Teddy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tom; and sister, Kathleen.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, South Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Wake Service from 7 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
