ROY – Raymond Paul Morgan, 80, passed away Friday, November 23, 2007 from complications of pulmonary fibrosis.
Ray was born July 4, 1927 in San Bernardino, California, the son of William Otto and Elizabeth Beesley Morgan.
On September 22, 1950, he married Helen Saxton in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on September 22, 1970. Helen passed away March 14, 1974.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, former member of the Roy 13th Ward, and at the time of his death, a member of the Country Meadows Ward.
Ray was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was later employed at Hill Air Force Base retiring after 23 years of service.
His favorite pastime was spent on his boat, fishing. He was a true cowboy at heart who loved singing “Marty Robbins” ballads.
Surviving are his son, Glenn Ray (Susan) Morgan; grandchildren, Nicholas Morgan, Lindsey (Taylor) Anderson and Jody Morgan; stepdaughter, Amy Bailey; sisters, Gloria Marble and Marlene (Ralph) Bird.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, one grandson, five brothers and three sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Ogden Nursing and Rehab. Center, especially the physical therapy department, for the care they gave Ray.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Alan Turpin officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, where Military Honors will be accorded.
