Raymond Eugene Pippin
Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Brother, Raymond Eugene Pippin, 73, passed away in the early morning on Friday, November 9, 2012. He was born on August 8, 1939 to Melvin T. and Esther Thomas Pippin in Calexico, California. He served in the Army National Guard.
Raymond married the love of his life, Kathryn "Kathy" Wilson, on August 8, 1958 in Pomona, California. They raised their family in Chino, California and later moved to Harrisville, Utah. In August they celebrated 54 wonderful years together.
He was a Deputy on the LA County Sheriff''s Department. He was also a fireman, worked at Thiokol for 15 years, owned his own shoe repair business in Brigham City, a massage therapist and on the Utah Board of Massage Therapy.
Raymond was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the gospel and served faithfully as a High Priest Group Leader and as a Counselor in the Bishopric in California.
He loved to go fly fishing. Dad always caught the "big one". He enjoyed hunting and camping with his family. Dad had a quick wit and loved to tell jokes. He was always making others laugh. He was very dedicated to his children and family. His motto was "cut it to shape, pound it to fit and paint it to match".
Raymond is survived by wife, Kathy; sons, Jeff (Deby), Willard and Ron (Sandy), Roy; daughter, Janet (Mike) Vause, Pleasant View; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren with 4 on the way; brother, Thadd (Diane) CA; and sisters, Sylvia Patterson, AZ; Mary Ann "Dolly" (Tony) Texeira, CA; Shirley (Rod) Smith, MS and Glenda Borges, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Richard and Marvin and a sister, Berniece.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Colonial Springs Ward, 2360 North 600 West, Harrisville. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
