Raynel (Ray) Albert Martinez

CLEARFIELD a€" Ray Martinez, loving husband, father, grandfather, poppy, brother and friend, 86, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Heritage Park Care Center.

He was born January 12, 1924 in Caracus, New Mexico the son of Augustine and Santanita Luna Martinez.

Ray married Josie Castro Martinez on December 5, 1948 in Dragerton, Utah.

He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, American Legion Post 134 and the Eagles.

Ray loved camping, fishing, dancing, music and playing the guitar. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife Josie Castro Martinez, Clearfield; son, Albert L. (Robin) Martinez, Clearfield; daughter, Mary Ellen (Rudy) Dominguez, Roy; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, sisters, Jennie (Mike) Gallegos, Layton; Cruzita (Edumenio) Romero, Montrose, CO; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Church Street, Layton. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Prayer service 7 p.m.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
