Read Howard Simpson
CLINTON, Utah- Read Howard Simpson beloved husband, father, grandfather, 61; returned to Heaven after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, February 18, 2022 in California; returning from a cruise to Mexico, surrounded by his family.
Read was born in Ogden, Utah on December 23, 1960 to Missy Babinchak and Theron Simpson. He was raised in Layton with his sister and three brothers, where he graduated from Layton High School.
On December 17, 1989 Read married Robin Starks in Washington Terrace, Utah. He worked for Farm Bureau Insurance, and later worked at Autoliv, where he had a fulfilling career as a Lead Supervisor. Together they loved gathering loved ones for home cooked meals. The more the merrier for him, as everyone was invited and welcomed as family. Barbecuing was a favorite pastime, often spending the whole day preparing. They were together for 24 years, until December 2012 when his beloved Robin passed away.
Read was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Oftentimes, he would take in family in need of a home and cared for loved ones who were sick. In his children, he created a close bond and taught us that love endures.
After 8 years as a widower, Read started dating Barbara (Bobbee) Gill, his longtime friend and co-worker. With her, he was able to find his smile and love again. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. They married on March 2, 2021 in Reno, NV. We are immensely grateful for her love and care of our father this past year.
Read is preceded in death by his wife, Robin, parents: Theron and Missy, his two Sisters: Julie Kellos and Vicky Simpson, and his brother Randal Probert.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbee, his children: Fred III (Emily) Omura, Christopher (Kira) Simpson, Zachary (Chelsea) Simpson, Shane, Casey, and LeiAnn, as well as his eight young grandchildren and his brothers David Probert and Douglas K. Simpson.
