Redonda Maxine Staton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2018. She was born on July 29, 1925 in Hollis, Harmon County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Otis and Sarah Martin.
Boots was married to George Staton on October 5, 1942. They were married for 63 years before his passing. Boots was preceded in death by her three children and husband, George; also her parents and seven siblings.
Surviving are her 6 grandchildren, Terrill M. Staton, Greg D. Olson, Gary D. Staton, Brian K. Olson, Jaimee L. (Staton) Young, and Shane R. Staton and 13 great-grandchildren, Jasmine Kofed, Ariel Herbert, Blaine Olson, Lauren Goddard, Zana Olson, Lane Goddard, Reagan Olson, Alex Olson, Michael Staton, Nathan Staton, Lillianne Staton, Adyn Staton, and Sofiya Staton.
She was an active member of the Mountain View Baptist Church.
In her earlier years she and her husband enjoyed camping and hunting big game by using a bow and arrow. They also enjoyed square dancing and golf. She was especially proud of her trophy showing when she made a “hole in one” on August 22, 1978. Boots had a passion for creating clothing and made almost everything she wore. Her creations always received compliments as they looked very professionally made.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
