Reed C. Neeley
FARR WEST – Reed C. Neeley, 75, died Saturday, August 23, 2008.
He was born October 31, 1932 in Preston, Idaho, a son of Clarence and Hattie Shumway Neeley. His family bought a farm in Cornish, Utah in 1933 and that is where Reed was raised. He attended elementary school in Cornish, Junior High in Lewiston and graduated from North Cache High School in 1950.
Reed joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 and served his country aboard the same ship in and out of North Korea many times. He was discharged in January of 1955.
He married Clarice Jenkins in 1951 and together they had six children: Debra (Max) Christensen, Michael R. Neeley (deceased), Marla Kaye Halverson (deceased), Michelle (Marty) Berlin, Kevin R. Neeley and Andrea N. Carter. They were later divorced. Reed married Alta Pat Hauser in 1970 and was fortunate to inherit two wonderful sons, Jeffery (Mindy) Hauser and Bill (Geri) Hauser.
Reed worked for the telephone company for 30 years, retiring in March of 1985.
Surviving are his wife Alta Pat, his children, step-children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice for Utah.
