Reinhard Albert Jockel
August 10, 1941 ~ December 7, 2021
Naturalist Reinhard Albert Jockel passed away on December 7, 2021 in Hyde Park, Utah. He was born on August 10, 1941 in Burkhards, Schotten, Deutschland, Germany during World War II. His parents Heinrich and Katharina Waas Jockel had three other children: Werner, Hannelore, and Irmgard.
Because times were hard in Germany after WWII, Reinhard was sent to America to live with relatives in Kansas City, USA in 1956. He went on to attend UC Berkley and then found a new home in Logan, Utah while enrolled at USU.
Reinhard was a member of Cache Hikers and the Bridgerland Audubon Society. He was always willing to share his knowledge of birds, trees, and wildflowers with his hiking friends.
Reinhard loved learning of the Supreme Creator of his world. Consequently, he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2014.
He was very appreciative of the wonderful care he received at Autumn Care Assisted and by the staff of Rocky Mountain Care.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Logan City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
