Renée Lynn Medina

March 30, 1964 — May 23, 2023

Clearfield

Renée Lynn Medina, age 59, passed away on May 23, 2023, at her home in Clearfield, Utah. She was born on March 30, 1964, in Fremont, California to Susan Marie Edwards and Mel Buckles.

Renée
grew up with a strong desire for knowledge and earned an associate’s degree in administration at the Davis Applied Technical College. She was a woman who lived with purpose. Her career was centered around helping those in need. She worked for 18 years at The Utah State Office of Education, where she loved working in the migrant department. Renée's focus on helping others inspired her to volunteer constantly throughout her life, and even encouraged family members to join her in these charitable endeavors.

Renée had many interests outside of work. She loved socializing with family and friends, which involved going dancing or camping trips where they could spend time out in nature. One of her favorite hobbies included gardening; she took great pride in growing delicious strawberries, tasty tomatoes, and beautiful roses - all things that were near to her heart.

Renée will always be remembered as a caring mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was the world’s best Yaya and loved spending time with her beautiful granddaughter.

She is survived by her mother, Susan Rivers; daughters, Maréesa Medina and RanDée Medina; granddaughter, Skilynn Renée Parks; ex-husband, Louie Medina, brother, Robert Buckles, and sister, Kimberly Buckles - as well as many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Day; grandfather, Vern Edwards; and grandmother, Cecilia Edwards.

Renée Lynn Medina - you have moved from our lives but never from our hearts. You have inspired so many of us through your kind soul, unwavering dedication to education and those in need, garden expertise, caring friendship, and beautiful smile.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 South 2000 West, Syracuse, Utah 84075.
