Renee Sharon Moniot

1944-2020

Quality, compassion, and language are ideas describing Renee.  A linguist at heart, she spoke fluent Spanish, French, Norwegian, German, Russian, and others. Her opus was teaching.  She brought the love of language and culture to thousands of students for generations at NLJH, SDJH, Mueller Park, BHS, and others.

In retirement, she spoke with people around the world booking rooms for Holiday Inn.  Woodbadge trained, she served as roundtable staff and on the Great Salt Lake Council with Scoutreach.

Never one to take the easy route, it took 4 cancers, a stroke, dementia, and COVID to finally take her. She is survived by her son and family. She will be missed.

The funeral will be Saturday, December 19 at Lindquist Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. in Bountiful at 2p.m. A viewing will be held Friday, December 18 from 6-8 at the mortuary. Please wear a mask. Services will be live-streamed by scrolling to the bottom of Renee’s obituary page. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Primary Children’s Medical Center.
